KEY WEST, OH MY GOD!

This morning we rented a car with Norm and Sue and went to Key West. We had so much fun. First, we had lunch at Willie T's. They had a guitar player there who was quite good. It was hard to tear ourselves away to explore further. Next, we took a "Conch Train Tour". We saw all of Old Key West and learned about the history, the architecture, the flowers, and the famous people who have lived there. We walked around shopping for awhile. While walking through the mall on the way to Mallory Square, there was a book signing. I stopped to talk to the author and found him to be very personable and interesting. He was selling his book for half price and I couldn't resist. He wants me to email him and tell him what I thought of the book after I've finished it.

Then we went to Sloppy Joe's and hung out there listening to this family musical group. There are ten children in the family and six of them are in this band. They are called The Doerfels. The other four children made guest appearances. The youngest child is 5 years old and just adorable. They were so good, we bought 2 of their CDs. About an hour before sunset, we walked back to Mallory Square. All over the Square there are different acts going on. We watched a fire juggler, a fire swallower, and a dog that takes the tips from your hand and delivers it to his master's tip bucket. His masters play and sing, but it's the dog that draw the crowd. The sunset was gorgeous. We walked around a while longer and then headed back to the boat. What an awesome day!
