ISLAMORADA

Another gorgeous sunset!

Pirate ship rides at Loralie.

Isn't this an interesting "boat"?

This is how shallow it was right outside of the channel.

We left Boot Key Harbor at 8:00 A.M. this morning and headed for Islamorada. We cruised 48 miles and arrived at 2:00 P.M. We anchored out on the Gulf side near Loralie Harbor. There were some pretty narrow channels between some awfully shallow water on the way in toward the shore. We met some friends of Norm and Sue's, Dan and Jesse. They are extremely nice people. They invited us to a cookout at their boat. They are right next to where the live band was playing. Plus they had a spectacular view of the sunset. Tonight was the fullest, brightest moon in like 18 years. I tried to take pictures of it, but they did not turn out well at all. The harbor also had fireworks tonight. Apparently, they have fireworks whenever there is a full moon. That's how they celebrate the full moon. Isn't that a cool idea? We already like this place a whole bunch. The people we have already met have been really nice and friendly. That's how boaters are.
