Weekend

Friday morning, we rented a car and left Hampton, VA at 8:00, heading for Cincinnati.  We arrived at our son and daughter-in-law's house at 6:00 P.M.  The first picture is of the hail at their house after we arrived.  They invited the rest of our children and grandchildren to come to their house for the evening, so that we could see all of them.  I don't know who was more excited, the grandchildren or us.  We got lots of hugs and kisses.

Saturday was our Granddaughter's First Communion.  Church was crowded.  Each family had 1 pew reserved.  Our family needed more room, so some family members had to find available pews to sit in.  Clara looked so angelic in her white dress and veil.  The veil is the blusher part of Clara's mother's (Gina) wedding veil.  After Church, we went back to Clara's house for a party.  All of her aunts and uncles, cousins, two great-grandmothers, one great-grandfather, and one grandma and grandpa (that's John and Me) Later that evening, my family had the family birthday party (3 months worth of birthdays on one night) at my brother and sister-in-law's house.  I am the oldest of six children and all of my brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law were there.  It was great to see them all.  We had taken three of our grandchildren to the birthday party with us because we were babysitting them and staying at their house.  I don't know who was more worn  out by the end of the night, them or us.  We thought all three of them would fall asleep on the way home.  It's about a half hour drive, but not one of them fell asleep.  When we got to their house, I told the two year old that he was tired and had to go right to bed.  He said, "I not tired.  I not tired."  I put him in bed and he was asleep in about two minutes.  We were not long behind them.

Hail on Jay's deck.

Sunday we left Cincinnati at 9:30 A.M. and got back to the boat at 8:00 P.M.  We are planning on leaving here as soon as Enterprise opens and the cars (Norm rented one this weekend too) get turned in.  It's been fun being here in Hampton and fun going home for the weekend, but now it's time to boogy on down the line.
