It was hot today and it's supposed to be hot until Friday.  Right now it is raining, but that just started a few minutes ago.  Today was the big day for Hastings.  They won the WFN (World Fishing Network) prize for the Ultimate Fishing Town.  They won a check for $25,000 and a rather large silver trophy.  Not bad for a town of 1200 people.  There were probably about 300 people in attendance.  The TV crew was in town most of the day.  They interviewed people walking around in town.  They went for a ride in a pontoon boat, and at 1:00 all of the school children paraded down the street, led by a man named Jamey (minister at the United Church of Christ) playing the bagpipes.  The children all made fish flags and marched waving their flags as they passed by.  Sandi and Eddie, and KC and Scott came to the harbor for the festivities.  The rest of the day we pretty much hibernated and stayed out of the heat.  I am putting a few pictures on from the celebration.
